Literary Leicester

The CWWA has hosted an event at the Literary Leicester festival for the past x years. Literary Leicester is the University of Leicester’s annual celebration of writing in all its form, held annually since 2008. Previous events have included:

2017

Acclaimed writer, Kamila Shamsie read from her powerful new novel, Home Fire, long-listed for the 2017 Booker Prize and was then interviewed by Fiona Tolan.

2016

Fay Weldon discussed her latest book, Before the War (2016), with Founder Chair of the Contemporary Women’s Writing Association, Professor Mary Eagleton. They reflected on changes in the social and literary landscape since the publication of Fay’s first novel, The Fat Woman’s Joke (1967), almost 50 years ago.
